Ladybugs
A few weeks ago the kindergarteners invited lady bug larvae to visit with them in their room. But the larvae didn't stay instead they transformed into ladybugs.
The ladybugs couldn't stay and visit very long either. The kindergarteners had to say goodbye to the ladybugs who wanted to spread their wings and see the world outside. So we decided to talk about everything they had observed about ladybugs and create some drawings that wouldn't need to fly away. |
The kindergarteners have been welcoming all sorts of new friends into their class rooms these past several weeks. The students have been being scientists and making observations. |
The best part about our ladybugs was getting to use a new medium!
We used water color crayons to add color to our ladybugs.

Portraits and Portfolios

Let's talk about drawing!
This month we examine illustrations in books.
We notice that a drawing is really just shapes and lines.
Since it's the holidays we worked together to come up shapes and lines to make an "elf on a box"
And then of course we can make it even more interesting by adding color.

We wanted to go 3D with our patterns so we planned out several bead patterns.
